A. Tumovs aka FISHING_AL_GA_LINE I fished ever since I can remember myself. my father was a commercial fisherman , even after spending hours and hours on water we still went and fished with rod and reel, at that time i was maybe 10 years old ! first fish I have e witnessed to catch was by my father at the time I thought that was a 1,000 lbs mirror carp! he was fighting with that fish for ever ! i got into bass fishing about 20 years ago and fished tournament and what know after while i wasn't enjoying it as much so i got into crappie fishing and still love and then came catfish ( ohhh boyy) let me tell ya, there isn't nothing like hooking up a big one. after fishing for about 10 years for catfish learner they patterns , habitat , methods etc. I became hooked even more. and then came my local lake record catfish of 72 lbs which also was my personal best! about 2 years ago i opened a tackle shop called Bluffton Bait n Tackle (Lanett AL used to be called Bluffton so that's where the name came from). we specialized in mostly cat fishing and that where we came up with some designs for rigs like FIREFLY and OKIE RIG (in my personal opinion the best rigs there) but its hard to beat good ol Carolina rig. Thank you and tight lines .

De’Yhaun Brown, 28 from Washington DC known as BIG BAIT BIG FISH is an angler who currently fishes in the Potomac River. De’Yhaun grew a liking of catching fish with is late grandfather who always had Deyhaun around while he fished when he was young. Overtime, he fished plenty of charters from the Chesapeake Bay to Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing catching groupers, red snapper, barracudas, etc. There’s many memories that De’Yhaun is openly ready to share about fishing through many achievements and connections he has made. BigBaitBigFish became his name to honor all the times he spent with him and his grandfather out fishing. He found not just a hobby, he found something that will keep him close to his grandfather forever in fishing. He fell in love with seeing that rod bend on take downs. Now BigBaitBigFish has been in numerous of tournaments winning the majority he’s entered. With his Personal Best (PB) being 48lbs on a Blue Catfish.

Tommy Anderson, Native North Texan I‘ve been fishing as long as I can remember. My Dad started taking me with him as soon as I was out of diapers. He would carry me on his shoulders while walking the creeks for crappie and white bass (sand bass as we call them). We would go sit on the banks of the lake and fish for catfish and carp. I have always been in love with the outdoors. My first solo catch was a 5 pound channel cat from a farm pond. I have fished for everything in my local North Texas waters, from panfish and bass, to stripers, carp, buffalo, drum, and gar. But, as I grew older I started concentrating more on catfishing, I do still fish for multiple species, but chasing big catfish is my passion. After many years and many heart breaks losing big fish, I finally landed my first Blue cat over 20 pounds in 2009, she weighed in at 39.02. That personal best stood until 2021 when I was able to boat a 43.86 pound blue cat while drifting with my Dad. The following year I set a new personal best for Flathead at 27.56#. Dad and I chased these wonderful slimy critters for couple years hard core in his 16’ boat. We were catching tons of great fish and I set a goal to reach at catching a 50+ pound Blue cat and Flathead. But Texas winds and work schedules began to make it difficult. And we were unable to fish much anymore in the boat. After that I focused myself into learning where to find bigger catfish, and when to find them from the banks. I primarily fished from the bank and landed many fish up to 42lb, I just couldn’t seem to set a new personal record for big cats. So, I decided to get myself a boat. February of 2025 I purchased my first big boy boat. As I am writing this in May 2025, there have already been more than 25 blue cat landed in the boat over 20 pounds, more than a dozen in the 30+ range and 4 over 40 pounds. The biggest, being my current personal best of 45.76. My passion and hunger for chasing these beasts continues to grow and I still have my goals to achieve. I’ll keep bumping the goals up each time I achieve one. My journey of chasing catfish has taken me to several states outside of Texas such as, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Louisiana so far, and I hope to add more states as the years go by. I have introduced my children to fishing and hunting as my Dad did for me, and his Dad did for him. I hope they introduce their children to the outdoors or let me introduce them to it. I enjoy taking my fellow fisherman out and enjoy watching them catch big fish or catch their personal best fish also. Thanks for reading, tightlines and never stop chasing your goals!
